Historic Frenchtown: Heart and Heritage in Tallahassee
The history of Frenchtown, a small community located in the center of Tallahassee, is filled with vibrant characters and culture unique in its own right. The area has undergone tremendous changes and transformations throughout its establishment. Frenchtown has witnessed Florida's first Native Americans, Andrew Jackson's expedition during the Seminole Wars, and African-Americans fight for equality. Lately, there has been public outcry to preserve the rich history of Frenchtown. The energy and spirit of Frenchtown has seen a resurgence thanks in large part to a stern commitment to return the area back to its cultural roots.
